EVENING TRIP Arrive at Departure Point by 4pmTrip starts promptly at 4:30pm
Departure Point: Meet at the parking area that is about 2 miles from downtown Hinsdale heading West on Rt. 119 (towards Brattleboro) or about 1.5 miles from Walmart, heading East on Rt. 119 (towards Hinsdale). Parking area is directly across from the blue house at 406 Brattleboro Road,
Hinsdale. We'll launch from the causeway next to the parking lot.
The hope is to view wildlife. From the causeway, we'll head slightly upriver to view an osprey's nest, then paddle into Liscom Hollow. Possible sightings of beavers and muskrat. Paddle under the rail trail bridge. Leave Liscom’s and continue upriver to Monkey Island to view the eagle's nest. Look for heron, eagles, osprey and Kingfishers. Return to the causeway to end trip. For this trip you must have your own boat and equipment. Portions of this trip involve strenuous paddling (otherwise leisurely but steady). This trip is suggested for adults only.
